NAB recovered Rs377m in two months: Chairman

nabISLAMABAD – Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has given approval for transfer/distribution of Rs 377,064,110/- of looted money, recovered from different accused persons through Plea Bargain (PB), Voluntary Return (VR) and Bank settlement for the month of September & October, 2014, to the Federal and Provincial government, banks, affectees of various scams and other departments.

The details of the amounts that will be transferred to the Federal and Provincial government, banks, affectees of various scams and other departments are as follows.

Federal and Provincial Government = Rs 129,773,567/- , Banks = Rs. 1,702,234/-, Other Departments = Rs 97,806,664/-, Electricity Companies = Rs. 49,474,418/-, Affectees of various scams = 86,503,227/-.  Earlier in the months of July & August the recovered amount that was transferred to federal/provincial governments, banks, affectees of different scams and other departments was Rs. 141,415,602/-.

This noticeable difference in the amounts recovered during the period of September & October and July & August shows effective and continuously improved efforts of the NAB  to recover the looted money of the nation and to give it back to the real affectees as the top most priority of NAB.

Chairman NAB, Mr. Qamar Zaman Chaudhry said that NAB is committed to fight against corruption and corrupt practices. Our top priority is to bring the looted money back to national exchequer/affectees. The law will follow its course indiscriminately and no culprit will be speared at any cost. He directed all the NAB Officers/Officials to reinforce their efforts in this noble cause.
