ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Eid Miladun Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him), on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, was celebrated in Islamabad, Lahore, Quetta, Karachi, Peshawar and across the country with religious zeal and fervour amid tight security arrangements on Sunday.
In several cities, a number of events of Mehfil-i-Naat and Milad are scheduled to be held while processions will also be taken out to express love, devotion and respect for the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). A large number of people, including religious scholars, will participate in the processions.
Special conferences and events are being arranged to pay respect to the last messenger whose life and teachings are beacon of light for the whole mankind.
The day dawned with an official 31-gun salute at the federal capital and a 21-gun salute in provincial capital cities.
Special prayers for the unity of Muslims, their progress and prosperity were offered in mosques after morning prayers.
An International Rehmatul-lil-Alameen (Peace Be Upon Him) Conference will be held in Islamabad today under the auspices of Ministry of Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony.
The theme of this year’s conference is the “State of Madinah and concept of modern Islamic Welfare State” – in the light of teachings of Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).
The opening session of the conference will be chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Dr Arif Alvi will preside over the concluding session.
A special documentary had also been prepared to air on the occasion. Senator Faisal Javed, in a statement, had said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was taking special attention in the preparation of the conference.
Prominent scholars and foreign delegates will participate in the conference and throw light on various aspects of the life and teachings of Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).
Awards and prizes will also be distributed among the position holders in Seerat Books, Maqala-e-Seerat and Naats.
Police have made foolproof security arrangements for peaceful observance of the Eid Milad across the country.
President, PM extend felicitations to Muslims
President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan have extended their felicitations to Muslims on the occasion of Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).
In separate messages, they said the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) established a welfare state and a role model society by better management.
The president, in his message, said the government has been striving to develop Pakistan as a welfare state based on the principles of the State of Madina.
He said the government has been making economic and social reforms in various sectors which can bring positive outcomes very soon.
The president urged the citizens particularly the religious scholars to play their role to make Pakistan a welfare state.
The PM said the thought of welfare state was, first ever, introduced by Islam in the human history. He said the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) and Khulafa-e-Rashideen practically materialised this thought in the first Hijri Century.
He said the birth of Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) marked the end of a history of inhumanity, oppression, tyranny, ignorance, injustice and deviation from the right path and purified civilisation by inculcating characteristics like human dignity and forgiveness.
