Bismah, Muneeba fifties help Challengers beat Blasters

KARACHI: Left-handed batter Bismah Maroof and last match centurion Muneeba Ali scored half-centuries to help PCB Challengers beat PCB Blasters by eight wickets in the fifth match of National Triangular T20 Women’s Cricket Championship at National Stadium Karachi on Monday. Bismah gained her form back and led her side, which was set to chase 125 runs, from the front. She scored 62 laced with eight boundaries. Meanwhile, Muneeba, star of the match on the other day, scored 56 in as many balls for the winning side. Muneeba and Bismah added 12 runs for the third wicket to hand a convincing second win in a row to Blasters. Anam Amin and Ramin Shamim claimed a wicket for Blasters. Earlier, Blasters led by Ramin Shamim won the toss and decided to bat first. Opener Javeria Khan scored 63 runs to help Blasters score 124-5 in 20 overs. Javeria Rauf added 27 runs to the team total. Challengers’ bowlers from the start were economical with their lines and lengths. Fatima Sana, Nida Dar, and Syeda Aroob Shah claimed one wicket each. Challengers will now face PCB Dynamites tomorrow.
